The Kingdom of Frell is at peace.
Though the so-called Golden Age of King Char and Queen Ella is long over- so long ago now that few are still alive who can remember it- life continues on much as it ever did. Merchants travel the lands far and wide, finding new and exotic goods to bring back to Greenville, the town just outside the royal palace. Greenville's markets are thriving, and most of the town's inhabitants pay little mind to the castle looming in the distance.
That is, of course, until The Gray Death appears. There is no known cure. Sufferers initially feel very weak, and are soon not even able to get out of bed. Overcome by fever, their complexions turn gray and they die. Still, Greenville believes it is safe- there are just rumors of the illness, and being so close to the castle, they're safe, right?
Wrong.
The illness knows no boundaries, a fact that is brought starkly to light when the King of Frell contracts the disease and dies a short time later. The King leaves behind a land in limbo- his wife, the Queen, is trying her level best to keep power from the hands of their immature son. Heroes search for a cure, trying to avenge their fallen King. Life in Greenville continues on, if a bit more cautiously. Life in the court, however, is marked by ambition and intrigue. Courtiers' motives are far from pure, and ambitions are on the rise. No one is sure who will emerge victorious.
Happily ever after was never a guarantee.
Fair is an original character role playing game inspired by Ella Enchanted, Fairest, and The Two Princesses of Bamarre by Gail Carson Levine. The game takes place in the world created by those books, but no canon knowledge is required or expected. All fantasy characters welcomed!

But over all, you're a nice sort of guy, and you can see plainly that you love her, so that's brilliant.
But I'm her best friend. She MY best friend. Will you please stop inviting yourself along ANY time we have plans? I've seen her ONCE one on one since you got married six months ago. ONCE. I'm going through some shit and I need her for a few hours, okay? Because while I like you, I sure as hell don't know you well enough to talk about MY problems with, alright?

You want to know the truth about high school? You've got to break it down into its elements. Unfortunately, at St. Donovan's, the periodic table is more crooked than a case of scoliosis. Just give me the chance and I'll set it all straight. Case in point, Spanish homework. "Dame un batido de esperma" does not mean, "Take me to the airport." It means, "Give me a sperm milkshake." And 22 kids gave that as an answer in Spanish III last week. I'm not sure about the milkshake, but somebody is sure feeding us something sticky. Every clique on campus is copying the same damn homework. Burn-outs, pretty boys, drama-dorks, jocks, debaters, player-haters, you name it. Oh, it's big, all right. And I'm on it like pink rubber bands on your little sister's braces. The name's Bobby Funke. I write for the paper.

Help!
So, you are a young (Early/Mid-twenties), eager, clever girl in Italy during the early 1800's. You're a little naive but very rough, not afraid of fighting or hard work, always trying to prove yourself and always having a wicked, calculating gleam in your eyes. Oh yeah, and you're a pirate.
In other words, lots of less-than-pristine clothing, pictures of her with weapons, and mean or mischievous looks. No Kiera Knightley, please. As for hair/eye colour and other preferences, anything goes. Thank you!

I have a lot of work left to do and probably won't keep all of the people, since it's 52 of each and that's kind of crazy, but yeah. That's my project whenever I'm not working on my half-finished American dream Drama term paper or trying to find modern day depictions of Odin in literature for my Myth & Folklore paper.

No one is safe.
Frequent attacks and disappearances have rippled through the Wizarding World with no clear connection or reason. Scholars, children and Ministry officials are being picked off at random leaving fear in the wake of destruction and death as Lord Voldemort ascends to power. The Ministry is hard pressed to end the struggle as Death-Eaters watch their every internal move so closely that resistance is nearly futile.
The world is dividing, and there is little way of escaping it as loyalties shift beneath the feet of the innocent.
But life goes on amidst the atrocities; people fall in love, get married and try to adapt to a world of war. In the shadows there are some who would fight back. The Order of the Phoenix is hardly more than a fleeting thought of revolution, but as Death-Eaters gain influence amongst the fragile minds within the castle, students have begun taking the fight into their own hands.
Which side will you choose, and who will succeed?

Solemnly Sworn finds the Wizarding world in the summer of 1978 following a canon timeline with limited allowances for crack plot. In the last lingering days before Welcoming Feast the Marauders prepare to begin their 7th year in the midst of a progressing war.

I love my daddy and his computer knowledge. :)
He came up and looked at my computer and named the silver cylinders: capacitors. (I told y'all I don't know the fancy terminology!) He said probably a power surge or something (which shouldn't have happened, since all my computer-related stuff is plugged into a surge protector) blew out the capacitors.
He took the video card out and plugged the monitor into the motherboard, and lo and behold, Neptune started up just fine! :D
We're still going to need to get me a new video card, which means facing the scary scary Black Friday crowds, but at least I can turn the computer on and use it again in the interim, which I wasn't sure I'd be able to do.
So, I'm already in a much better mood than I was last night. :)
